The weekend is again upon, aren’t you glad to finally get your mind of work and spend time at home, or on a new hobby, or doing something different… heck thinking of something different other than the usual work related thoughts is good enough for me.
I realize I haven’t been posting much lately, the past couple of weeks have been a bit crazy. It is a good kind of busy though when you hear the ka-ching… cash registers going off in the background; all the time.
If you are also in business I’m pretty sure you love the sound of that too.
But now that I have finally found the time to blog, I’d like to tell you about one key factor that most business owners overlook, and these days it is a necessary component that can mean a business’ success or failure.
Back in the old days, having a good business simply meant having a good product or service that is well priced, promoting it well, having a good location or distribution network, and having a good market that patronizes your products and services.
In my fifteen years in advertising and marketing other people’s
brands, I’ve thought up all sorts of ads and campaigns to help my
clients get new business, get new customers. The primary reason they
did that is… no matter what sort of industry you are in, no matter what
kind of business or service you sell, the absolute fact is, you will
always lose a percentage of your customers; you lose them to
competition; you lose them because of some sort of disappointment; you lose them because
they probably moved to another town, another city.
Heck, bottom line is, on a regular basis, you lose customers for a myriad of reasons, and because of that fact business owners had to constantly advertise, or constantly had to have some marketing campaign going. Luckily for me that need for advertising has kept me around all these years… but that is not what this blog is about.
